Overview

FxPro Review: Is Raw+ Actually Cheaper Than Standard?

FxPro offers more platform and account combinations than a typical one-terminal CFD broker. Its current comparison places Standard spread-only pricing alongside Raw+ and cTrader accounts, where forex and metals trades carry explicit commission. That choice is valuable for traders who track execution costs, but it also creates a common analytical mistake: a 0.0-pip starting spread is compared against a 1.2-pip Standard quote without adding commission. The resulting conclusion can reverse once both accounts are expressed in the same units.

Official FxPro support identifies a $3.50 commission per standard lot, per side, on Raw+ and cTrader forex/metals positions. An opening and closing trade therefore costs $7 in commission on a standard lot under the quoted USD convention. At a roughly $10-per-pip value for a standard EUR/USD position, this equates to about 0.7 pip before paying any remaining market spread. A Raw+ trade executed at 0.5 pip would have an illustrative all-in spread-and-commission cost of around 1.2 pips; with a 0.1-pip actual spread, it could cost 0.8 pip. Neither number is an observed transaction; both expose the comparison a customer needs to make.

Trading software is the second defining feature. FxPro offers MT4, MT5 and cTrader as well as its own web/mobile services. They should not be treated as interchangeable branded screens. MT4 uses MQL4 automation and supports hedging workflows. MT5 supports MQL5 and may have netting or hedging configurations depending on setup; its instrument range can include stock/ETF CFDs unavailable through the particular MT4 offering. cTrader uses its own automation environment and order-management conventions. A strategy written for one platform will usually need technical work before another can execute it.

A third distinction is between a CFD and the asset shown on the chart. A share CFD gives contractual economic exposure to price movement; it does not automatically put a share in an exchange custody account in the customer's name. A trader seeking long-term ownership of listed securities may be choosing the wrong product even if the FxPro app displays stocks. This applies similarly to an index or futures-referencing derivative.

Our conclusion is conditional rather than brand-driven: FxPro supplies a credible choice of professional trading interfaces, but the best account varies with spreads at the hours actually traded, position size, overnight holding, platform requirements and the legal entity available in the customer's country. This is a source-based review; we did not open a funded account or measure live order fills, deposits, support responses or payouts.

How FxPro Works

A Practical FxPro Account Comparison Using One Identical Trade

First choose a specific test, for example buying and later selling one standard lot of EUR/USD in a normal liquid session. The lot size, symbol, stop distance, rollover exposure and account currency must remain the same. A broker's 'from zero' spread on one account should not be compared to a screenshot captured during a different market session on another. Obtain the bid and ask quotes from both actual account feeds if possible, and retain the terminal specifications.

Second record the full Raw+ charge. FxPro publishes $3.50 per lot per side on forex and metals, although its separate commission calculator also explains calculation as $35 per million USD traded and account-currency conversion. For a trader using GBP/JPY in a EUR account, the nominal amount is not necessarily exactly seven euros. The calculator's example demonstrates converting a fee associated with the base currency. Avoid treating $7 as a fixed cash charge for every cross pair, every unit of volume and every deposit currency.

Third compare the full round turn: a Standard account with a hypothetical 1.2-pip effective spread on EUR/USD costs about $12 on the assumed lot. Raw+ with a 0.4-pip effective spread plus $7 commission costs roughly $11. Raw+ has a $1 advantage. If Raw+ actually fills with a 0.6-pip spread, the total becomes $13 and Standard is $1 cheaper. For this model the crossover occurs at 0.5 pip of Raw+ spread. Recording only the lowest displayed quote would conceal the economically important boundary.

Fourth inspect the platform's behavior rather than equating availability with identical orders. FxPro explains that a pending buy order is triggered by the ask and a pending sell by the bid. A chart frequently emphasizes one side of the market. An apparent failure to execute a pending order can reflect the relevant side never reaching the trigger or insufficient free margin at activation. Test the actual symbol's tick-size, stop-distance and trade-volume increments on the intended terminal.

Fifth account for execution, slippage and financing. A stop-loss is an instruction to close at available market pricing; a jump through the stop can result in a worse fill. For positions held beyond the broker's rollover, use the long/short swap in the contract specification. A spread advantage of $1 can disappear after one unfavorable overnight financing adjustment. Similarly, a strategy sending many small trades can be more sensitive to a fixed per-lot commission than one holding for several days.

Sixth verify the legal and withdrawal route. FxPro's FAQ says recent bank-card deposits should generally be returned to the card before residual profits can move by bank wire or another eligible method. PayPal and Skrill refunds are also prioritized after card refunds. This can prevent someone from withdrawing all capital through a newly selected wallet even though the trading account balance is positive. Confirm actual method availability for the chosen contracting company.

These six steps yield an answer tied to the customer's real use rather than a universal declaration that Raw+ or Standard is better. A comparison that omits instrument, spread timestamp, commission basis and funding route is not a cost analysis.

FxPro Pricing

FxPro Costs Explained: What the $3.50 Commission Really Buys

FxPro Standard accounts incorporate compensation into marked-up variable spreads and list zero commission. Raw+ and cTrader remove that specific spread markup on eligible forex/metals but charge a separate fee: $3.50 per standard-lot side under the published USD illustration. The company's cTrader calculator describes $35 for each $1 million traded per side and shows currency conversion; actual charges should be verified in the exact trading account. No realistic review should substitute a permanent 0.0-pip live quote for the phrase 'spreads from zero'.

At the standard EUR/USD pip value of about $10, a one-lot trade executed at a 0.8-pip Standard spread costs approximately $8, whereas a Raw+ trade with a 0.3-pip spread plus $7 commission costs about $10. In that particular model Standard wins by $2. If Standard is 1.4 pip and Raw+ remains at 0.3, Standard costs $14 and Raw+ about $10; Raw+ wins by $4. Both are hypothetical but useful because they show that changing an account name does not change the economic equation. A trader using 0.10 lot should scale the dollar values down roughly tenfold, subject to minimum charge and rounding rules.

Frequency magnifies small differences. A persistent $2 lower round-trip cost on 200 one-lot trades represents $400, before slippage and swaps. But 200 trades in a quiet session do not predict the cost of 200 trades around volatile announcements. Traders should measure a representative sample of their own instrument and scheduled holding period, calculate median and tail spreads, and include the real distribution rather than selecting the best quote.

The funding FAQ says FxPro does not generally charge its own deposit or withdrawal commission. Third-party banks and payment processors may still charge. The FAQ adds that e-wallet withdrawal fees can apply when a customer has not traded, and it specifies the refund order for cards, then certain wallets, before other methods can be used for remaining funds. These details affect a customer who deposits for testing and later decides not to trade. They also demonstrate that 'zero withdrawal fee' is not a promise of free conversion or unrestricted destination choice.

An additional cost appears in overnight financing. FxPro publishes swaps and rollover costs by instrument, and the platform comparison explicitly notes that positions held overnight are subject to rollover. Short-term scalping comparisons primarily emphasize spread, commission and slippage; a swing trader's cost needs financing over every holding night and any triple-swap rollover convention applicable to the asset. CFD shares may also have corporate-action cash adjustments, which are not equivalent to ownership rights.

Finally, don't assign commission to instruments where it doesn't apply under the published table. The official FAQ says the $3.50-per-side structure targets FX and metals on Raw+/cTrader, while other instrument categories can instead have floating spreads without that per-lot commission. A forex-only formula applied to a share CFD or bitcoin CFD is unreliable; check each live symbol and its current fee schedule.

FxPro Features

Platforms, Execution and Trading Controls Worth Testing

FxPro's broad platform choice is meaningful for traders who already have an automated system. MT4 and MT5 support different code ecosystems, account configurations and market-access lists, while cTrader provides its own algo and interface capabilities. FxPro lists a minimum of 0.01 lot on many instruments, but instrument specifications control the real volume increment. MT5 adds the possibility of netting or hedging depending on the account setup; a strategy that assumes multiple simultaneous opposing positions cannot ignore that difference.

For charting and order management, one useful exercise is to open the same symbol in two eligible terminals and check the actual bid/ask display, available orders, stop-distance rules and server time. FxPro's help documentation notes that orders may fail to activate if the opposite side of a quoted price did not reach the trigger or if margin was insufficient. Those are testable reasons and much more useful than a generic description of 'fast execution'.

The advertised asset range spans currencies, metals, indices, energy, futures-linked contracts, crypto CFDs and, on certain configurations, stock/ETF CFDs. Access is not necessarily uniform. A trader needing a specific share, overnight index contract or automation library should verify it inside the trading account before transferring an EA from another broker. Even two terminals from the same brand may represent different position-accounting environments.

Execution risk remains. A pending order's specified price is not a promise of guaranteed fill through a market gap. Variable spreads can expand sharply when major data are released or when a market reopens. If the system depends on a precise stop level, the trader should calculate loss under worse slippage instead of relying only on backtesting against smooth historical quotes.

FxPro also publishes calculators for commissions, swaps and margin, which is a practical advantage when evaluating cross-currency positions. Their outputs are derived from inputs such as traded base currency and account denomination. A default $7 round-turn illustration is insufficient for GBP/JPY in euros or for nonstandard contract sizes. The calculator provides a consistent way to model those variations before submitting orders.

The principal limitation is complexity rather than lack of tools: platform, account family, asset and local legal entity interact. Choosing the correct configuration takes more effort than opening a single generic app, but it can provide better control for a disciplined trader who already understands the desired workflow.

Who FxPro Is Best For

When FxPro Makes Sense—and When It Does Not

FxPro is well suited to traders who already use MT4, MT5 or cTrader and want to retain a particular charting, order or automation workflow. Those traders can make an informed choice between marked-up spread-only pricing and Raw+/cTrader commission pricing. Its platform diversity is most useful when the user actually needs a supported feature, not when a newcomer mistakes a long platform list for guaranteed low costs.

For a high-frequency forex trader, a Raw+ account is worth evaluating if their expected effective spread advantage exceeds the roughly 0.7-pip EUR/USD-equivalent round-turn commission. The user should calculate this using actual live quotes and instrument/account-currency rules. A low-frequency trader may prefer Standard if the commission cannot be recovered by a tighter spread, particularly for small sizes with rounding effects.

A coder using MQL4 might value MT4 despite narrower instrument access. A trader moving to MQL5 may prefer MT5 for additional symbols and order types, but existing algorithms and assumptions need testing. A cTrader user should assess programming environment, execution interface and actual instrument list before assuming they will match a MetaTrader portfolio precisely.

FxPro is not a substitute for a securities broker if the primary objective is direct long-term ownership of exchange-traded stocks or ETFs. A share CFD generally represents a contractual derivative rather than the beneficial ownership of a listed share. Dividends and financing can be handled as cash adjustments instead of shareholder entitlements. Readers should choose the product category before comparing transaction costs.

It is also not an ideal choice for someone who wants to know the precise cost of all trades from the lowest advertised spread alone. Variable pricing, commission by account type, swap by asset and jurisdiction-specific leverage mean that no single marketing figure describes an entire trading experience. Beginners unable to calculate their loss per pip or identify their counterparty would benefit from simulation and basic education before live leverage.

FxPro Alternatives

Comparing FxPro With Real Alternatives

Pepperstone is a natural platform benchmark for traders who wish to compare MetaTrader and cTrader trading with raw-spread account structures. The analysis should use the actual contracting company available to the reader, then compare the same EUR/USD volume and session with complete round-turn commission. Fees denominated in different currencies must be converted before concluding which broker is cheaper.

ActivTrades provides a useful spread-based contrast. Its official support describes most forex and CFD products as free from separate trading commissions, with dealing costs instead reflected in the spread and applicable financing. That does not prove an ActivTrades trade costs nothing. On a one-lot EUR/USD scenario, a hypothetical 1.0-pip ActivTrades spread costs about $10. FxPro Raw+ at 0.2 pip plus $7 commission would cost about $9, but at 0.6 pip plus $7 it would cost $13. Thus the comparison turns on the real quote and holding period, not the 'zero commission' versus 'raw spread' labels.

For someone who wants direct listed security ownership rather than derivative exposure, Interactive Brokers is a more appropriate comparison than another CFD broker. Ownership rights, custody arrangement, commission, share availability and currency exchange become the deciding parameters. Comparing only advertised spread levels across those product categories would conceal what the customer is actually purchasing.

IG may also be a relevant benchmark for charting, index markets and regionally regulated CFD contracts. The final judgment must keep the same customer country and legal entity on each side. A UK retail account and a global offshore account may operate under different leverage and protections even when both show the same EUR/USD pair.

To choose intelligently, create a table with one actual instrument, one actual lot size, source time, opening spread, closing spread, all commissions, overnight financing, deposit/withdrawal route and legal entity. Only after that should interface preference or charting convenience break a near tie. Without those controls, competitor lists are often advertising in disguise.

Our Verdict

FxPro Verdict: 6.9/10, With a Specific Cost Threshold

FxPro's strongest substantive feature is the ability to choose among MT4, MT5, cTrader and spread-only or raw-price account structures. The broker publishes enough commission detail for a trader to calculate a testable crossover. For a standard EUR/USD lot with an approximate $10 pip value, the stated $3.50 per side amounts to about 0.7 pip round trip. This means a Raw+ account is not necessarily cheaper than Standard when its real spread advantage is smaller than the commission equivalent.

The account decision is not purely financial. Automation portability and symbol availability differ among platforms; MT4 code is not MT5 code, and cTrader has its own tools. Some stock-related derivatives are supported only on particular terminals or regions. A trader moving accounts should test the exact workflow with a demo or small exposure rather than assuming the shared FxPro brand makes the implementation identical.

FxPro's published payment policy says it generally charges no deposit/withdrawal fee itself but requires recent card deposits to be returned through the card route before other methods; it also notes possible third-party fees and e-wallet exceptions where funds were not traded. These are concrete administrative conditions that affect exit planning, especially when the customer wants to recover test capital using a different payment channel.

There are limits to our score. We did not execute trades, observe spread distributions, measure slippage, verify support performance or request withdrawals. Marketing expressions about rapid execution and liquidity cannot be converted into a numerical fill-quality score without timestamped independent transactions. Nor do we treat any one legal entity's authorization as covering all visitors worldwide. Users must identify the specific regulated company applicable to their place of residence.

Ecom Ratings assigns a provisional editorial score of 6.9/10 because the account choice can be evaluated against explicit commission rules and multiple trading workflows. The principal requirement is that readers do the complete per-instrument math rather than rely on spread minima. This is an assessment of published product structure, not a claim that any strategy will be profitable or that customer funds cannot be lost.

What stands out

Pros

  • FxPro publishes per-side Raw+/cTrader forex commissions, allowing a reproducible cost comparison against Standard account spreads.
  • Choice of MT4, MT5 and cTrader accommodates distinct automation languages, order-handling models and instrument requirements.
  • Dedicated commission and margin calculators improve the precision of cross-currency and instrument-specific cost estimates.
  • Detailed documentation describes pending-order bid/ask triggering and card-first withdrawal routing rather than offering only slogans.
  • The official comparison exposes differing access to stocks/ETF CFDs on certain terminals instead of implying universal product coverage.
Things to consider

Cons

  • A near-zero minimum raw spread is not the full price: one standard FX lot typically adds two commission sides and any remaining spread.
  • MT4, MT5 and cTrader strategies are not automatically interchangeable, and account netting/hedging settings can change execution logic.
  • Variable spreads and overnight financing can reverse the apparent price advantage of a selected account during specific market sessions.
  • Card-first refunds and payment-method restrictions can complicate withdrawals even where the broker itself lists no withdrawal commission.
  • The correct legal entity, leverage and instrument access vary by customer country, so global comparisons cannot be treated as universal.

Frequently asked questions

FxPro FAQ

How much does FxPro Raw+ cost per standard lot?

FxPro publishes $3.50 per side for an eligible standard forex lot on Raw+/cTrader, equating to about $7 for entry and exit before the remaining spread. On EUR/USD this resembles roughly 0.7 pip at a $10 pip value. Actual commission currency and nonstandard symbols should be checked with the official calculator.

When does FxPro Raw+ cost less than Standard?

Under a simple standard-lot EUR/USD illustration, Raw+ must save more than the roughly 0.7-pip commission equivalent in effective spread to beat a commission-free Standard quote. If Standard costs 1.2 pips, Raw+ needs a spread under 0.5 pip in this scenario, ignoring swap/slippage. The actual answer requires live matched quotes.

Do FxPro MT4, MT5 and cTrader support the same robots?

No. MT4 uses MQL4, MT5 uses MQL5 and cTrader has its own algorithmic environment. A robot or indicator must be adapted to the target platform and tested against its order types, symbol specifications and position-accounting settings before use. Merely offering all three platforms does not make code portable.

Why might an FxPro pending order not execute?

The broker explains that buy-order triggers depend on the ask and sell-order triggers on the bid, which may differ from the side emphasized on a chart. An order can also fail if there is insufficient margin when triggered. Verify price side, spread and free margin rather than assuming all missed orders reflect a broker error.

Does FxPro charge withdrawal fees or permit any withdrawal method?

FxPro says it generally does not impose its own deposit or withdrawal commission, although payment providers may charge fees and unused e-wallet deposits may have an exception. Its FAQ prioritizes card refunds and then certain wallet refunds before other eligible payment methods can receive remaining funds.

Can I buy real shares through FxPro’s stock offering?

A stock CFD is a derivative that tracks price differences, not automatically a custody account holding the underlying listed share. Before investing, confirm which product the eligible FxPro entity offers, whether shareholder rights apply, and how financing and dividend-related cash adjustments are handled.
